Former Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche, has penned a new two year deal with his Spanish Segunda side, Gimnàstic de Tarragona, extending his stay until 2019.
Uche who initially joined Gimnàstic de Tarragona on loan from Mexico’s Tigres UANL last season was delighted extending his stay with the club he helped survive relegation last season.
He tweeted through his Twitter handle @ikeuche9 in Spanish: “Muy contento de poder defender esta camiseta hasta 2019 ‘. Which in English means “Very happy to be able to defend this Jersey until 2019.”
Uche played 24 games, scoring eight goals last season for Gimnàstic de Tarragona who finished 14th on 52 points in the 22-team Spanish second division league table.
Gimnàstic de Tarragona is the eighth Spanish club Uche is representing since he signed for Racing Ferrol in 2003.
Uche who has scored over 100 La Liga goals has previously featured for Racing Ferrol, Recreativo Huelva, Getafe, Real Zaragoza.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner also starred for Granada, Villarreal and Malaga.
