Ogun Speaker Speaks About Community Demand Projects

Implementation and execution of community demand programmes and projects remain a veritable means of ensuring effective utilisation and maintenance of public utilities and amenities being put in place by Government.

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi stated this today during the commissioning and hand over of projects facilitated by the member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Hon Olayiwola Ojodu to communities in his constituency.

Adekunbi explained that the best way to ensure effective protection and durability of any project is to involve the community from conceptualisation to execution stage, while thanking the people for their unflinching support at all times which had assisted the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led government in executing people oriented policies and programmes across the State.

He noted that the level playing field provided by the governor had assisted tremendously in promoting mutual interdependence between all arms of government in the delivery of democratic dividend to the people.

According to the Speaker, all the people oriented legislation passed by the Assembly in the last six years had helped to advance the ongoing development projects being witnessed in all parts of the State.

While soliciting for the continued support of the people to achieve the success of the ongoing rebuilding mission of the State Government, Adekunbi commended the governor for putting in place the necessary enabling environment to ensure that the lawmakers in the State give back to their constituencies.

He lauded Hon. Ojodu for facilitating projects that would have direct impact on the life of the people, assuring that the eighth legislature in the State would continue to do its best to advance the overall development of the State.

Speaking, Hon. Ojodu said that the motorised bore holes he facilitated to communities in Owu -Ogbe, Sabo, Lafenwa Abule Otun,  Ita Ojodu Ilawo and Idiya, all in his Abeokuta North State Constituency were in line with the demand of the various communities, saying that the projects were being handed over to the communities to ensure effective maintenance, promote efficiency and durability .

Ojodu, who also rolled out token financial support to 118 members of his constituency, said the gesture was meant to assist the people and make life more abundant.

He listed some of the projects he had earlier facilitated to his constituency to include a health care center at Adeun community along Abeokuta -Ayetoro road, block of 8-lock up shops at Iberekodo market,  culvert linking Communities in Olomore to Ita Oshin /Oke-Ata, another culvert near Lafenwa, Mobile clinic, ICT training programme and distribution of other vocational and empowerment programmes amongst others.
