Akarigbo-Elect Congratulated By Ogun Assembly

The Akarigbo-Elect and the Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Prince Babatunde Ajayi has been congratulated by the Ogun State House of Assembly on his recent selection to the stool with a charge to him to bring his wealth of experience in the private sectors to bear on ascension to the throne to further contribute to the development of Remoland and the State at large.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues while responding to the submission of the Majority Leader, Adeyinka Mafe under Personal Explanation appreciated the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led- government for its timely role and support for the selection process of the monarch which according to him was in fulfillment of the rich cultural and traditional values of the State.

According to the Speaker, the Akarigbo elect had all it takes to take Remo land to greater heights, considering his distinguished background.

Also, while responding to the Majority Leader’s call for the immediate downward review in the boarding and feeding fees of the model schools to further create room for more indigent students in the school in line with the present administration’s vision of affordable education policy, Adekunbi described the model schools as a citadel of knowledge that would redefine education sector in the country which would allow its products to compete favourably with their peers across the globe.

He noted that government had consulted widely with stakeholders before fixing the boarding and feeding fees for the institution which is constructed across all the Local Government Councils in the State by the present administration to further enhance the affordable and qualitative education programme of the State government. He assured that more consultations would still be carried out with all stakeholders with a view to determining further review of the boarding fees.

On the state of Atikori – Eyin Osun road in Ijebu North I State Constituency caused by heavy duty vehicles belonging to companies in the area as reported by Hon Bowale Solaja, Adekunbi tasked the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to

liase with companies across the State towards ensuring effective road maintenance and putting in place palliative measures where necessary.

He explained that such measures when implemented would alleviate the plight of commuters and motorists, stressing that the present administration had invested massively on road construction which had led to the socio-economic development being witnessed in the State.
