How OPC Factional Leader Escapes Death At Yoruba Summit In Ibadan

A kingpin of a faction of Odua Peoples Congress (New Era OPC) Thursday, escaped being killed by fellow OPC ‘soldiers’ believed to be loyal to another factional leader of the congress at the Yoruba Summit held at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.

The kingpin, Chief Adesina Akinpelu informed PMParrot that he was attacked by those he called ‘the killer squad’ being maintained by his rival in the same OPC.

His words “I was trying to help one of our guys whose car was damaged outside the stadium when these killer squad descended on me. I know them. One of them was Sunday Babalola and there was also Tope Terror”.

Akinpelu who is being treated at an undisclosed hospital said he was shot several times.

Hear him out “Yes, they shot me several times and when they saw that it was not effective, they used machetes to wound me. They were definitely out to kill me. But men of the Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force rescued me and took me away”.

It was gathered that cash worth N430,000 meant for the transport fares of his group members was taken away from him by his assailants.
