Finally, there may be light at the end of the tunnel for students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso as the Academic Staff Union of the school has suspended its industrial action.
From what we gathered, lectures will commence on Monday 23rd October 2017.
The decision to put the strike on hold was reached at the congress held on Tuesday at the Main campus of the institution in Ogbomoso
Details of the meeting is still scanty as at the moment of writing this report but it was learnt that the lecturers agreed to return to class based on assurances from the management and the governing council that their salary arrears and other issues that led to the strike would be resolved.
It should be recalled that the lecturers embarked on the industrial action in April, 2017 shortly after the end of first semester examination .
