Demise Of Tinubu’s Son: Senate, Aregbesola, Sen Buhari, Raufu Olaniyan Mourn

The Nigerian Senate, Osun’s Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, Engineer Raufu Olaniyan and others have expressed sadness over the death of Mr Jide Tinubu, the son of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Senate, in a statement personally signed by President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who had earlier paid a condolence visit to commiserate with Tinubu in Abuja, described the death as an “unfortunate incident”.

“All of us in the Senate are deeply saddened by the untimely passage of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the son of former Senator and top political leader,  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Jide was not only a promising young man but had what it takes to contribute to the overall wellbeing of his family in particular and the nation in general.

“It is highly unfortunate that we lost him so early and we are still pained by his demise,” Saraki stated.

While praying God to guard, guide and grant Tinubu, his wife, Senator Oluremi and the entire Tinubu family the grace and fortitude to  bear the irreparable loss, he also asked God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on his part, described as shocking,  the death of Jide Tinubu.

Aregbesola said the deceased was a young man with promising future, who,  sadly, was snatched away by the icy hands of death at his prime.

In a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr.  Sola Fasure,  Aregbesola said he received the news of Jide’s death with great shock and grief.

He noted that in the African belief system, it is a very sad occurrence for a child to predecease his or her parent, saying Jide’s sudden demise is very painful.

The statement reads: “I received the sad news of the death of Jide Tinubu, the son of the former governor of Lagos State and the Party’s National Leader, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with great shock and grief.

“It is very sad to lose a child or any loved one for that matter at his or her prime. Jide’s death is a blow too many to his family, both extended and immediate.

“This indeed, is a very sad moment we all share with our great leader. My heartfelt condolence goes to the entire Tinubu family.

“On behalf of myself, the government and the good people of Osun,  I offer our heartfelt condolences to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at this moment of trial.

“We pray Almighty Allah (SWT) bestow on the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lose and May Allah grant the late Jide eternal rest.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime Senator Abdulfatai Buhari has also commiserated with the  National Leader of the APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Buhari in a condolence message said “the death of the young and vibrant Jide is shocking and devastating but God knows better.

“No amount of words can heal the wound but we can only pray to God to comfort and console Asiwaju and Yeye Oluremi Tinubu and other family members”

He also prayed for aljanah fridaous for the deceased and urged the entire family to take heart and  see the unexpected incident as the wish of “almighty Allah who giveth and taketh at will.”

In a related development, Engr Raufu Aderemi Olaniyan, one of the governorship hopefuls in Oyo State under APC has expressed grief over the demise of Barrister Jide Tinubu.

This was contained in a terse  statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday by his media office.

The politician said words cannot be sufficiently deployed to console the Tinubu family at this time, over the untimely death of Jide, a promising young man.

He noted that it is always a sad occurrence for parents to inter a child. The retired Permanent Secretary in the Oyo state civil service, However prayed that Allah grants the Tinubu family the fortitude to bear this very saddening loss and grant the dearly departed Aljana Fidous.
