IFA, OYSFA Feud Ends Soon

There were indications during the week that the two year bitter feud between the erstwhile Board of Ibadan Football Association (IFA), and Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA) may end soon.

The two bodies have been embroiled in a legal tussle after the dissolution of the Ibadan soccer ruling body, and the composition of a Caretaker Committee by OYSFA.

Reliable sources disclosed that the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Abayomi Oke held another meeting with the two parties last Friday to resolve the impasse which had impacted negatively on football development in the city

The sources at the meeting indicated that the meeting which lasted some hours witnessed suggestions from both parties on how to arrive at a lasting solution to the crisis.

However, after both parties made many concession to foster peace, it was agreed that the matter be settled amicably, the sources stated.

Terms for settlement included withdrawal of case from court, proper handing-over to the caretaker committee, befitting send-forth for the former Board members and induction of the members into the State’s Football Hall of Fame.

PMParrot sources explained further that elections to constitute another IFA Board will hold January 2018. Those at the 7th meeting on the face-off included the Commissioner; Abayomi Oke, Directors in the  ministry, former IFA Chairman; Alhaji Banji Akintayo, Barr. Akintayo  (IFA’s lawyer ), Chief James Odeniran(OYSFA Chairman), Kehinde Ojelowo(Secretary ) among others.
