The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, and a literary giant, Odia Ofeimun, are to deliver lectures at the 16th Bola Ige Memorial Symposium , which will come up in Osogbo, Osun State in December.
A statement made available to PMParrot on Sunday by Chairman of the Organising Committee, Awa Bamiji, revealed that titles of the lectures are: “Lagos Forensic Centre and Future of Crime Prevention on the African Continent” and “Increasing Ethic Agitation: A Call For Restructuring of Devolution of Powers? “
The event, which is being organised by the Bola Ige Centre for Justice will come up on Saturday 30th December, 2017 at Aurora Conference and Event Centre, by NNPC Mega Station, Ring Road, Osogbo, at 11am prompt.
The statement revealed further that the Chairman of occasion is Araba Ifayemi Elebuibon, the Araba of Osogbo, while the Special Guest of Honour is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader, All Progressives’ Congress (APC).
Guest of Honour is Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Governor of Oyo State. Father and Mother of the day are Oloye Lekan Alabi, Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland and Princess Bisi Sangodoyin, an Ibadan based gender activist.
Chief Host is Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Governor of Osun State.
This celebration of life, which was first staged on Tuesday, 17th December, 2002 and also, last staged on Tuesday 20th December, 2016, at Western Hall, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, and Banquet Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Lagos State, respectively, is being organised by hundreds of youths’ organisations within and outside Nigeria under the aegis of PROGRESSIVE YOUTHS’ ALLIANCE ALLIANCE (PYA).
