Super Eagles assistant captain, Ogenyi Onazi has disclosed his intention to place every of his focus on next year FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The Trabzonspor defender said he is not ready to split his mind thinking about January transfers.
“I think the most important thing right now is the World Cup, After the tournament, I can now decide to move to Barcelona or any team willing to take me,” Onazi said.
The former Lazio of Italy defensive Midfielder stressed that there is no need for him to change clubs right now rather than stay focused and remain as fit as possible ahead of the FIFA Mundial.
Onazi has in the past selected to represent the national team in FIFA Organized tournaments that include Confederations Cup and the world cup in Brazil.
The 24-year-old Onazi was selected for Nigeria’s squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. but missed out of the tournament as he suffered a slight knee knock a few weeks before the competition.
Onazi was also a member of Nigeria’s final squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and started in all four games as Nigeria were eliminated by France in the round of 16.
