Head Coach of the home-based Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf has expressed his confidence in his team despite recording a goalless draw in their opening game against Rwanda.
Speaking after the encounter, Salisu was full of confidence of his team will advance despite the draw.
“We know it’s not going to be an easy one, No team is going to be easy, but we are sure of progressing in the group” Coach Salisu stated.
The Amavubi of Rwanda frustrated the Super Eagles for the entire duration of the game, Eagles had over 20 chances, hitting the crossbar three times but failed to convert any.
The Super Eagles head coach also clamour for calm, he emphasized that the team will get everything right as the tournament continues.
Libya, the defending Champions had earlier defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-0 to stay at the summit of the Group.
Nigeria’s next game comes up on Friday as they take on their counterparts from Libya at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier.
