Ajimobi Witnesses How Senator Buhari Empowered His People

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State joined others to witness the empowerment of the people of Oyo North Senatorial district on Tuesday by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari.

The economic empowerment programme was held at NYSC orientation camp in Iseyin.

The beneficiaries including traditional rulers, artisans, students, widows, religion organizations and communities were drawn from the 13 local government areas of the Senatorial districts.

Items distributed included 36 cars, 300 motorcycles,  300  sewing machines, over 400  grinding machine, 40 deep freezers, Generators and  13 electric  transformers.

The Senator also distributed N20,000 as bursary awards to 200 students of tertiary institutions and  N25,00 each to  200 widows  carefully selected across the Senatorial district.

In his welcome address, Senator Buhari who is also the chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime said the empowerment program is  to appreciate members of his constituency and support them for economic advancement

The All Progressives Congress APC lawmakers  said “As a Senator I have not been found wanting in the discharge of my responsibility to my constituents and the development of Nigeria  through meaningful contributions at the plenary and pushing forward issues that affects my constituency”.

He also informed the gathering that efforts are ongoing to facilitate infrastructural development and other projects that will bring economic development to the state and Oyo North Senatorial district.

Senator Buhari said work is going on putting Ikere gorge dam in proper shape, rehabilitation of Iseyin –Oyo road, Ogbomoso-Oyo road,  establishment of University of  Agriculture and Technology in Oke Ogun and others.

While reiterating his commitment to the development of his constituency and the state at large, the lawmaker called for more patience with President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in his bid to restore sanity and progress into the nation.

The executive governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, while commending the lawmaker described Senator Buhari as the best lawmaker Oyo state ever had “I won’t be wrong if I say Senator Buhari is the best Senator in Oyo state, he performed better than I did when I was at the Senate, he deserves to be commended for the good job.”

Ajimobi who led some members of his executives and aides to the  event said “APC is lucky to have people with genuine interest to serve the masses , Senator Buhari is a true representative of the people of Oyo North”.

Speaking on political development in the state, the governor said the party will not impose any candidates for chairmanship and local government chairmanship election in the party but called for more understanding in careful selection of candidates in the forthcoming election by the APC.

The Party Chairman in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, in his address commended the Senator for keeping to his campaign promises and being a good ambassador of the party in the state.

Akin Oke who led the party’s executives from both state and local government to the event said “The party appreciates Senator Buhari’s milk of kindness and urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials”

One of the Beneficiaries, Oba AbdulGaniyy Adekunle Ajinese Ologunebi , the Aseyin of Iseyin  while speaking with journalists lauded the lawmaker for considering the  traditional rulers and the masses in his gesture and prayed for his success.
