  • Club Claims He Threatened Players

Former Super Eagles manager, Sunday Oliseh has responded via Twitter in the wake of his suspension by Fortuna Sittard, saying the Dutch second-tier club severed ties with him because he refused to participate in illegal activities.

According to the board of Fortuna Sittard, the decision to put the 43-year-old Oliseh on non-active is not motivated by the current sporting performances but his frosty relationship with several people in the club.

”I confirm: Due to my refusal to participate in Illegal activities at Fortuna sittard & violate the Law, I have been Suspended from my duties as Coach by the Foreign Owners of Fortuna.

”Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players & our hard fought phenomenal positioning for Promotion,” Oliseh responded through his social media (Twitter) handle, @sundayOOliseh.

Jiry Funke, the commercial manager of Fortuna Sittard responded to Oliseh’s accusations in a Twitter post which has been deleted : ”Sunday Oliseh is the only one who has committed illegal activities. He intimidated and threatened players and employees and made them ridiculous.”

Fortuna Sittard have lost their last four matches in the league but are guaranteed a promotion playoff spot.
