The chairman, caretaker committee of Oriire South Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Oyo State, Hon. Jacob Abidoye Bamigboye has flagged off the construction of asphaltic road at Eleesun Adeosun, with a promise to tackle the challenges facing farmers in transporting their farm produce to markets in the council area.

Hon. Jacob Abidoye Bamigboye remarked that rural dwellers were facing a lot of challenges of bad road network, adding that his administration has made the construction of good and motor-able road network its priority, to alleviate the suffering of the people in the area.

The council boss applauded the Governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for what he described as the governor’s love for rural development and wealth creation.

According to the chairman, “Senator Ajimobi had directed all chairmen in the 33 local governments and 35 LCDA to site road constructions at mutually beneficial locations, rather than using political inclination for the location of the projects.”

Hon. Jacob Bamigboye further disclosed that his administration, within the short time of assumption of office, has embarked on the grading of over 400 kilometres of rural feeder roads in the LCDA. He added that ten numbers of boreholes were under construction at various locations across the LCDA.

The Chairman, however, appealed to the people in the area to reciprocate the good gesture of the Governor by supporting the government  in all its programmes and policies even as the local government elections are fast approaching.

Hon. Bamigboye, therefore, solicited for the unflinching support of the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress in the future elections, to be able to get the benefit of continuity in governance.

The traditional head of the community, Chief Gabriel Adeoye expressed his unreserved appreciation to the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the LCDA caretaker committee Chairman, Hon. Jacob Bamigboye for considering the community worthy of the dividend of democracy.

Chief Adeoye therefore gave words of assurance to the chairman, on behalf of his subjects, that the people of the community would not be ungrateful to the government in power, adding that the government should count on their support at all time.

The ceremony was graced by political heavyweights, traditional leaders, community leaders and government functionaries among whom were the APC state exco member, Hon Naagari; the Council Manager, Engr. Sylvester Adepoju, the secretary to the LCDA and all the caretaker committee members.
