The organisers of Ona-Ara Sports Festival, a sporting competition organised for all the secondary schools in Ona-Ara local government, have released the competition’s timetable to the general public.
According to a release made available to PMParrot by the festival’s Media and Publicity Committee’s Chairman, Hazeez Ayansola, the official opening ceremony of the competition which comprises of Cultural dance, matching by the participating teams and the opening football match is scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
The release further stated that a media interactive session with the organisers of the festival has been slated for Monday, March 12 at Ilaji Stadium and Resorts Center, the venue of the competition, same day in which the qualifying matches for the football event will kick off.
According to the timetable, as part of the organisers’ publicity strategies, a road show which is expected to move within Olorunsogo-Amuloko-Akanran axis will hold on Wednesday, March 14 wherein the residents of the aforementioned communities will be entertained by the council’s based hip-hop artistes.
Ona-Ara Sports Festival besides being a joint effort between Ona-Ara local Government and Ilaji Stadium and Resorts Center, a multi-billion naira sporting and hospitality outfit situated in Oloyo Village Akanran, is also the first-of-its-kind partnership between a third tier of government and a private enterprise in Nigeria.
