The Chairman Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba has congratulated the CEO of the women’s league, Aisha Falode who was, over the weekend, honoured by the Alumni of the University of Lagos with Award of Excellence in Women’s Football Development. He described the CAF and FIFA topshot as a blessing to Nigeria’s women football.

Okumagba who was one of the special guests at the event held inside the Unilag Multi-Purpose Hall on Sunday 18th March said “Falode, within the short period of taking over the leadership of our women’s league has turned the former less-fancy NWFL to a more lucrative one with her many lofty innovations.

“I’m happy and delighted to associate with this brilliant, brave, bold and a respected CAF and FIFA officer of over a decade who was saddled with the huge responsibility of revamping a dying women’s league, and has never disappointed us.

“Her wealth of experience and that of the former chairperson of women’s league, Dillichukwu Onyedinma can only help to spur the women game to greater glories. I congratulate Falode for this well deserved honour”, Okumagba noted.

He, however, thumped-up the leadership of NWFL for the MOU signed with Laliga and appreciated the initiative and partnership as he observed that it will be a big boost and source of exposure to the Nigeria Women Football League while also commending them for the initiative of introducing the ‘Champion Shield Tournament’ to herald the new season for the first time.
