In a bizarre move, a yet to be identified man on Wednesday, dived from the fifth floor of one of the buildings within the University College Hospital in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State and lost his life instantly.
The man, in his 50’s was said to have landed on his head and died immediately.
He was said to have been certified dead by the medical experts that attempted to come to his aide.
The news, which was first broken by a local radio station, Fresh FM spread like wild fire.
Initially, there were complaints that the body of the man was being allowed to lay on the spot where he landed and died.
PMParrot, however, gathered from the spokesman of the teaching hospital, Mr Deji Bobade that the body would not be moved until the arrival of the police.
Said Bobade “it is a standard procedure that such bodies are not moved so as not to jeopardize the investigation of the police. It was screened off while policemen were being expected.”
As at the time of going to uploading this, investigations were still being carried out to confirm the identity of the man.
However, PMParrot’s investigation confirmed that a suicide note was retrieved from one of his pockets before his remains were deposited in the mogue.
Efforts to reach Mr Adekunle Ajisebutu, the spokesman of the Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force were not successful.
