The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government area of Oyo State Mrs. Aderonke Afuye has charged wealthy and well-meaning Nigerians to make positive impact in the society by giving succour to orphans, motherless and other less privileged citizens.
Mrs. Aderonke Afuye made the appeal while donating gift items to Mercy of God home for motherless, physically challenged and less privileged located along Testing ground along Iwo road, Ibadan.
According to the wife of the council boss, children are God’s heritage and those that are in custody of the less privileged homes should be adequately taken care of in order for them to be productive and have a better future.
She further stated that the donation of the gift items was borne out the passion to always bring smile to faces of orphan, motherless and less privileged in our society and to complement the efforts of Her Excellency the wife of the executive Governor of Oyo State chief Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi at bringing succour to the needy.
While responding, the founder of Mercy of God home for the less privileged Mrs. ModupeAdisa described Mrs. Afuye as a woman worthy of emulation and therefore expressed gratitude to the wife of the council chairman for her magnanimity.
Some of the items donated included toiletries, beverages, insecticide, food stuff, vegetable oil and cash gift.
