The senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Monsurat Sunmonu has led four other House of Representatives members in Oyo State to obtained Expression of Interest and Nominations Forms of the African Democratic Congress to show their interest to re-contest in the coming general elections in the country.
Other federal lawmakers who joined Senator Sunmonu to pick their forms included Hon. Sunday Adepoju, representing Ido/Ibarapa federal constituency, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi, Oluyole federal constituency, Hon. Abiodun Olasupo, Irepo/Oorelope federal constituency and Hon. Taiwo Akintola, representing Egbeda/Onaara.
The senator and all the federal honourables picked up their forms at the party National Secretariat, Abuja in the presence of the party National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu and many other national officers who issued the forms to them.
The move was aimed to send a signal to their teeming supporters and to formally demonstrate their eligibility to participate in the forthcoming general elections as the party flag bearers in their respective domains.
It will be recalled that the leadership of the party, African Democratic Congress had resolved with other groups within the party to concede automatic tickets to all defecting elected office holders.
