Nigeria veteran Table Tennis champion, Funke Oshonaike has admitted that she will consider retiring after running in the Olympics in 2020 but is keen to secure her legendary status in Nigeria first.
The Africa women number 2 revealed that the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan will be her last outing following her silver medal finish at the recently concluded Africa Table Tennis championship in Mauritius.
The veteran player speaking on her immediate future said she isn’t yet ready to quit the game and that her focus is on qualifying to join the league of athletes who have attended 7 Olympic games.
Oshonaike believe that she will achieve this legendary feat in next year’s All Africa Games which will serve as the qualifier for the 2020 Olympics table tennis event.
