The Special Adviser to the Oyo State on Education and the initiator of Oyo State Model Education System Interventions (OYOMESI), Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi has said that about 50 outstanding individuals have been recognized, decorated and presented with certificates of recognition as heroes and mentors by the Oyo State Government through the OYOMESI initiative.
The hardworking Special Adviser in a press release signed and made available to pmparrot.com, noted that the Prime Oyo Role Model is a part of OYOMESI character education strand designed to honour the people who have excelled in their chosen profession and contributed to the development of education and society at large.
Dr. Akin-Alabi described the Quality Prime Time Session as an avenue for pupils to interact and share in the wealth of experience of these recognized role models to impact meaningful into the lives.
She stated further that the Prime Oyo Role initiative will ensure all children have positive attitude towards learning and character building, as well as avail them the opportunity to interact with the governor who is the Grand Patron of the Leadership programme.
The Special Adviser emphasized that the importance of pupils having heroes and mentors they look up to will help shapen their approach to life. She added that arrangements are in top gear to launch a compendium of heroes which will contain a lot of facts about the state and her distinguish personalities.
Dr. Akin-Alabi listed Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who had in 2017 been decorated as Prime Positive Role Model, his wife, Florence, Group Managing Director, First Bank, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, Chancellor, the First Technical University, Ibadan, Chief Tunde Afolabi, Project Director, BCOS, Mr. Yanju Adegbite among those that have been recognized by OYOMESI as Positive Role Models.
Also included in the list are Otunba Sani Adetu, Mrs. Sarah Sosan, Pastor Timothy Ojotisa, Al-Faruq Aminu, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi, Dr. Olatunde Adekola and Professor Oladapo Afolabi among others.
