AMIS Celebrates Annual Get-Together To Honour Professor Nurain Tanimowo

As part of measures to strengthen unity of purpose among Muslim schools and provide sound and qualitative Islamic/Western education, the Association of Model Islamic Schools, Nigeria, Oyo State has organized this year’s Children get-together.

The Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS) get-together is an annual event used to ensure familiarity among individual schools, pupils and students in the Muslim category.

The Oyo State Chairman of the association, Alhaji Lawal Abass,  noted that this year’s occasion was used to celebrate Prof. Nurain Tanimowo,  who is one of the founding fathers and brain behind the success of the association.

He disclosed that the association would also use the opportunity to reward best students in the AMIS Mock Examination and Aisha Lemu Competition.

In his goodwill message, Prof. Nurain Tanimowo, who was the celebrant commended the effort of the organizer of the event, school proprietors and proprietresses towards the progress of Islamic education in Oyo State.

He dedicated the honour bestowed on him to his family and friends for their support throughout the journey of propagation of Islam and Islamic education.

Prof. Tanimowo urged the association’s executive and members not to be discouraged in championing the course of the association.

Alhaji Abdul-Rasaq Olajide, in his lecture,  Legacy and Islam,  said that the only everlasting asset children can inherit from their parents is wholesome Islamic and Western education.

He urged parents and guardians to continue to give their children good and quality education for a better future.

Some of the dignitaries in attendance included Alhaja Sekinat Adekola, Alhaja S. B. Ogundiran and Alhaja Aminat Olaboopo among others.
