Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby has invited nine foreign-based players for next month’s 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana – and they have arrived at the team’s camp in Epe, Lagos State.
Nigeria are the defending champions of the tournament.
According to the NFF, 15 home stars were put through their paces by trained Dennerby and his assistants on Wednesday.
The foreign-based players are Charity Adule, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Osinachi Ohale, Josephine Chukwunonye, Rita Chikwelu, Ogonna Chukwudi, Ebere Orji, Chinaza Uchendu and Faith Michael.
Ngozi Okobi and Halimat Ayinde are among the foreign-based stars who came into the country on Wednesday morning.
The Falcons will on Thursday test strength against Dominion Hotspur, a Lagos boys’ team in their first friendly since opening camp two weeks ago.
Nigeria are drawn against South Africa, Kenya and Zambia in Group B of the Africa Cup of Nations, with Cape Coast as venue, starting with an opening encounter against Banyana Banyana on November 18.
