The governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has announced a N5000 monthly stipend for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in his State.
The governor who made the announcement in on Monday said all the youth corpers serving in the state will benefit.
Meanwhile, Kwara State Women wing of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has commended Governor Ahmed for empowering women in the state.
The state PDP woman leader, Hajia Ramat Razaq-Oganija, made this known in a statement on Sunday in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
According to her, each woman through their various associations received financial support from the state government.
Oganija said the gesture is just one of the numerous empowerment scheme by the State government to support the women folk in the state.
While appreciating the Governor for his numerous support for the women in the state, the woman leader reiterated the commitment and dedication of women to support the good policies and programs of the state governments, and therefore promised to mobilize the women across the state towards ensuring victory for the PDP in the coming general elections.
