Parrot Xtra Magazine’s Publisher, Olayinka Agboola and Lagelu FM Radio’s ace presenter, Ajibola Akinyefa, Saturday, led others to receive the Road Accident Information & Rescue Organization’s awards.
The award presentation, which was held at University of Ibadan Sports Complex was witnessed by dignitaries including a former Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, Chief Aareoye Oyebola, Major Rasaki Salawu (rtd) and representatives of safety and security agencies in the state.
The organization’s Commandant General, Bamigboye Okanlawon, in his address said that the award was to recognize the effort of the awardees in championing the course of safety awareness campaign among road users.
Okanlawon further stated that the organization will not relent in partnership with safety and security agencies, as well as the media to ensure safety on Nigeria’s highway.
Other awardees were Head of Station, African Independent Television (AIT), Folakemi Tokunbo, Tinuade Atoyosoye of Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Wale Adeoye, Lead City FM, Director, Obafemi Awolowo Sport Complex, University of Ibadan, Dr. Isiaka Abiodun Salami and Elder Adekunle Ajayi, Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Challenge Branch, who was decorated as Patron of the organization.
