Abu Azeez, Supersand Eagles’ forward has expressed delight with his 100th beach soccer goal in the semi final victory over Egypt at the CAF Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in Sharm El Sheikh.
The coach Audu Adamu side defeated host 7-6 to qualify for the final, while also securing one of Africa’s two tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay next year.
Azeez, who scored four of the goals, to take his Nigerian tally to 103, express his appreciation to Nigerians for their support.
“Thank you Nigerians for the support, double celebration for me, qualifying for the World Cup next year in Paraguay and reaching my 100 beachsoccer goals. Such a great feat, thank you to my coaches and all my team mates,” the former 3SC, Enyimba and Rangers striker said via his official Twitter account after the game along with his picture holding a shirt with the inscription ‘100 Goals’.
Azeez, who is in race for the Golden boot having scored seven goals at the ongoing championship, will be hoping to add to his tally when they take on Senegal in the final on Friday.
