Dr Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State has again told the people of his state that he will run an open and all-inclusive government that will ensure good participation from all segments of the society.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital while presenting cash gifts to members of Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf led by its Chairman, Mr. Aina Sesan, the Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji charged members of the Association not to see themselves as unfortunate beings, noting that their condition would never make them either unfortunate or a failure.
He affirmed that bright future awaits them but on a condition that they see ability in their disability.
Dr. Fayemi urged them to see the current administration he is leading as a populist one and be free to approach him with whatever challenges they might be confronted with.
Responding, the Chairman, Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf, Mr. Aina Sesan, who expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his magnanimity, promised that his members would make judicious use of the cash assistance rendered to them as this would go a long way to making the forthcoming 7th Ekiti Deaf Awareness celebration a huge success.
