Extremely talented actress, Funke Akindele has finally been blessed with a set of twins after her prayers and fasting over the years.
The twins, said to be both boys, made even Funke not to be able to contain her joy as she had to quickly race to her Instagram page to pen this: “Thank you Lord. Oluwa e tobi (God is great), I am now being called a new name.” Obviously referring to her new status as a mother.
Currently 41-years-old, the Law and Mass Communication graduate who climbed to prominence with her lead role in Jenifa, the hilarious banger had been chasing motherhood for years now. The chase assumed a ludicrous dimension when a certain prophet stated that she wasn’t destined to be a mother.
Losing her first set of twins not long afterwards seemed to lend credence to the obnoxious prophesy. But the Lord has now shut all the naysayers up.
A native of Ikorodu, in Lagos, Funke’s first marriage to one Al-Moroof, was very turbulent and brief. This was between 2012 and 2013.
She tried other relationships which didn’t work out until 2016 when AbdulRasheed Bello, her current husband who is popularly known as JJC Skillz, stepped in.
She took in last year, suffered a miscarriage and now, allegedly via IVF, according to one insider, the Lord has wiped all her tears, pains and agony with the arrival of her twins, in the United States of America.
Congratulatory messages, expectedly, have been pouring in for the new parents from left, right and centre. Here is what Ebony Life TV boss, Mo Abudu, said about the bundles of joy: “This is a real season of joy and happiness for us all. It is with the utmost pleasure, excitement and all glory of our Lord that we share in the good news on the birth of our bundles of joy – the baby boy twins of our darling Funkejenifa Akindele and her husband Jjc Skillz. I am already on the queue to be godmother 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽. God be praised. We ask that God continues to bless them, protect them and favour them greatly now and always.❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤”.
