Some agents and alleged miscreants sponsored by the Association of Table Water Producers, Ekiti State Chapter (ATWAP) in Ekiti West Local  Government, Aramoko Ekiti have been reported to have attacked some staff members of Dele Pure Water Company, one of those engaged in the water selling business and located at Ekute Quarters of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.

They were attacked while carrying out the sales of table and ‘pure water’ in and around Aramoko Ekiti axis very early on Wednesday morning, last week.

According our source who spoke to the driver of the vehicle with the plate number KAA 317 XA, Mr. Babatunde Kareem, a staff of the Dele Pure Water Company, he said: “the incidence happened at about 11:11am in the morning. On getting to one of our customer’s place to supply water along the Erio Ekiti road; one agent and person suspected to be a popular miscreant at Aramoko Ekiti and known as Seyi Ademiluyi accosted the driver asking that the driver of the Dele Pure Water Company, Mr. Babatunde Kareem should follow him to the Police Station. Without arguing with the ATWAP agent, he offered to follow him to the Police Station as he advised.

“The driver of the vehicle, Mr. Babatunde Kareem revealed that Seyi Ademiluyi (a.k.a. Sosomoney) is a staff of Atom Pure Water located in Aramoko Ekiti and owned by one Chief Mrs. Ademiluyi (the Omo Olori Obinrin of Aramoko Ekiti from the Ademiluyi family).

“The driver, Mr. Babatunde Kareem said Seyi Ademiluyi then requested and demanded to join the Dele Pure Water Company vehicle but that he declined him this. And that, in an attempt for Seyi Ademiluyi (a.k.a. Sosomoney) to forcefully join the Dele Pure Water Company vehicle to the Aramoko Ekiti Police Station, he jumped at the back of the diana truck 150 and the driver, Mr. Babatunde Kareem was taking him away. But on moving a little forward, the ATWAP agent / miscreant maneuvered and forced his way from the open back roof of the truck vehicle to harass the driver on the driver’s seat at the time he was already driving to the Police Station and dragged the driver, Mr. Babatunde Kareem out from the moving vehicle resulting into a very serious argument and fisticuffs which led the vehicle with plate number KAA 317 XA to run into a ditch by the road side.

Witnesses around the scene of the incidence confirmed that the said agent / miscreant of ATWAP at Aramoko Ekiti, Seyi Ademiluyi (a.k.a. Sosomoney) heavily descended on the driver, Mr. Babatunde Kareem with several blows and resulted into dragging the driver on the ground without heeding to the pleadings of those at the scene. This made the driver to sustain severe and painful injuries on his body. The driver, Mr. Babatunde Kareem going by our findings who is an HND graduate took to the driver’s job because of his inability to secure a good job to enable him cater for his family and attend to his immediate needs.

Investigations gathered at the scene of the incidence equally revealed that the said agent / miscreant of ATWAP at Aramoko Ekiti is very well known to be notorious in the town. It was also gathered that the owner of Atom Pure Water Company located along Ijero Ekiti road, one Chief (Mrs) Ademiluyi (the Omo Olori Obinrin of Aramoko Ekiti from the Ademiluyi family) is very well known for harrassing, frustrating, assaulting and embarrassing other Pure Water Companies that come to Aramoko Ekiti to sell and supply their products.

Giving her own account, the owner and the CEO of Dele Pure Water Company located at Ekute Quarters in Ado Ekiti, Mrs. Ronke Akin Ibimilua lamented and complained bitterly about her previous nasty experiences she encountered in the cause of doing her legitimate water business in Ekiti State.

Speaking further, Mrs Ronke Akin Ibimilua, the CEO of Dele Pure Water Company explained how her staff members have been attacked during the cause of selling water and making supplies across the state by the agents of the Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) in Ekiti State on more than two occasions at Ijesa-Isu Ekiti in Ikole Ekiti Local Government and Igogo Ekiti in Ijero Ekiti Local Government and vehicles and products worth hundreds of naira destroyed at her own expense and at the disadvantage of her own business thereby resulting into heavy shortage for her.

She recalled how vehicles supplying water for her at Ijesa-Isu Ekiti and Ilogbo Ekiti were hijacked on the road some years back by the agents of the Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) in Ekiti State and vandalised with tyres deflated, windscreen broken, products damaged, her staffs beaten up and the monies made from water sales proceeds forcefully taken away from them.

She revealed that with her current experience at Aramoko Ekiti, that time has come for her to seek redress at the Court of Law to address the current issue at hand, so as to serve as deterrent to others who might still be nursing such evil against her and her business across the State.
