Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan will host the final of the popular grassroots soccer competition in Oyo State tagged SWANLUX Cup, which has entered its 10th edition on Monday 24th the Christmas eve.
The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) football team will lock horns with the SWANLUX FC in the final cracker according to Coach Omoniyi Oladepo Alari who is coordinating the soccer tourney.
The leadership of Oyo State Football Association, headed by Oba James Odeniran has commended the financier of the tournament Folarin Familusi for consistently sponsoring the grassroots tournament for the past decade.
Oyo FA, however, urged other well meaning individuals in the state to emulate the good gesture of Familusi family towards sports development in the state, describing Familusi’s gesture as a great channel for the teeming youths that have used the platform to launch themselves to limelight.
Meanwhile the handler of NURTW FC, Coach Moruf Ogunmola popularly known as Miller has vowed to win the cup as a way to compensate and show appreciation to the NURTW chieftain, Elder Ade Ajayi of Challenge Ibadan unit that is sponsoring the team.
