Bolaji Amusa, popularly known as Mr Latin who is the newly elected president of Theatre and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has said he would not mind stepping on toes if it would bring about change and discipline in the association.
Mr Latin, in an exclusive interview in Abeokuta, on Thursday said the era when practitioners lacked discipline was over, adding that his tenure as the new president of TAMPAN would change the face of the association for good.
Speaking on his mission for the association, Latin, who said he had produced over 100 movies and featured in more 500 said with the support of the members of TAMPAN, it would not be long before normalcy is returned.
Asked how he would carry out a reform without stepping on the toes of the big wigs in the industry, determined Latin insisted that those who voted him in as president knew he was coming to overhaul the system and would not stop at nothing to turn the association around even if he stepped on toes.
“I am not scared of making the reform. As from now on, it is no longer business as usual but business unusual. I have the elders and members of trustee’s support. We can’t continue to do things the same way and expect results. Let me state it clearly today that TAMPAN will be reformed and its members will adjust,” he said.
On how he intends to handle the elders, who may be averse to his reform, Latin maintained that the elders would not stand in his way because they saw my manifesto and how he would run the association.
“The elders and members of trustee are throwing their support behind our reform. One thing is certain, after four years, TAMPAN will be returned to its glorious path,” he said.
