The government of Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed in Kwara State has said that the ongoing rehabilitation of Taiwo Road, Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state would be completed before the end of this month of January.
The project when completed, would put an end to the challenges confronting residents and road users prior to the intervention.
The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya, stated this when he led a team on an inspection tour of the project in Omu-Aran, Headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area.
Yahaya assured that the state government would mobilise Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA) with requisite wherewithal to ensure the completion of the project within record time.
The Commissioner thanked the facilitator of the road repairs and Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure and Project Monitoring, Mr Yinka Olaoye, and the people of Omu-Aran for their love and support for the state government.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Infrastructure and Project Monitoring, Mr Yinka Olaoye, said the ongoing project has brought succour to road users in the area.
He urged the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to continue his good work by ensuring completion of the ongoing rehabilitation on the road.
A Youth Coordinator in the area, Mr Akeem Ejidun, lauded the state government for prioritizing the welfare of people of Omu-Aran community through road project.
He noted that the road rehabilitation was apt and timely and solicited more infrastructural projects to aid socio-economic development of the town.
On the entourage of the Commissioner for Works and Transport were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Yusuf Garba Manjo; KWARMA General Manager, Engineer Usman Baba Jibril; and Secretary of KWARMA, Mr Tunde Amos.
