President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, has called on Nigerians to vote for her husband during the forthcoming presidential poll so as to consolidate all the good things he has done in his first term in office.
Aisha said this on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital while speaking at a colourful All Progressives Congress (APC) Southwest Women and Youth Zonal Rally which was held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (Liberty stadium), Oke-Ado.
While speaking on behalf of the wife of the president, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo said there is need for Nigerians to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019, adding that his government is a merciful government.
“The wife of the president told me to tell you that you should all go out to vote for Buhari, vote for APC and make sure you wait until your vote is count, and make sure you write down the result.
“Don’t allow anybody to deceive you, vote for Buhari, vote for continuity so that all of us can benefit immensely from this government.
In her remark, the APC national woman leader, Hajia Salamatu Bawa said that Nigerians should mobilise their families to vote for Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election, adding that continuity is what can move Nigeria as country forward.
“Come out with your families and vote for APC so that Nigeria can be better and the future of your children can be guaranteed.
Also speaking at the event was the APC southwest woman leader, Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson who said that Nigerians should go from street to street to canvas for votes for President Buhari, adding that Professor Osinbajo is from the southwest and 10 million vote will be given to Buhari.
Earlier in her remark, the wife of the Oyo State governor Mrs. Florence Abiola Ajimobi who was also the chief host of the event also admonished the people of the south west to ensure that good governance to the next level is voted for.
“President Buhari has impacted on the lives of our youth and our women through some of the programs of his administration such as N-Power, conditioner cash transfer, school feeding program, and the anchor borrower to mention few – all these have translated to the improvement in the economy of Nigeria as a whole”.
She reiterated that over two million petty traders have benefited from the traders money program embarked upon by the federal government, adding that 10 million school children have also been fed daily.
She, however, urged Nigerians to go out on February 16 to vote for president Buhari so that he can continue his good work and consolidate all the good things he has done during his first term in office as Nigerian president.
Dignitaries at the event included the Minister of information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Chief Pius Akinyelure, representative of the Lagos State governor, Otunba Femi Pedro, wives of all southwest governor, wife of Kebbi State governor, wife of Imo State governor, APC national women leader, Hajia Salamatu Bawa, APC southwest zonal women leader, Chief Kemi Nelson, and several others.
King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal and Saheed Balogun also led other entertainers to the political event.
