Ibadan Football Association’s new executive committee has emerged via a serious electoral process conducted by Oyo State Football Association over the weekend at Olubadan Stadium after which Barrister Rotimi Alli became the chairman, while Mr Idowu Akintola Olufela finished as the Vice Chairman.
Barrister Alli defeated Mr Ismail Sangowumi by six votes to win in a free and fair election to emerge the Chairman.
Other newly elected executives of the Association are Alhaja Romoke Modinat Badmus, Mr Oladipo Dauda Adebisi and Mr Oyelakin Folorunso Joseph.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Barrister Alli pledged to upgrade Olubadan stadium and revive IFA league.
The Oyo FA has constituted a Normalization Committee for the youth wing of the state chapter of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association.
The committee is headed by an Ibadan based legal practitioner, Barrister Tajudeen Rotimi Alli.
Members of the Committee are Coach Kazeem Adeleke, Coach Hassan Olawumi, Coach Kehinde Sulaiman, Coach Adeniji Oyejide, Coach Taoreed Akinwunmi and Coach John Olusola.
According to the Chairman Oyo State Football Association, who is also a traditional ruler in Akinyele local government area of the state, Oba James Odeniran, the Committee is saddled with the responsibility of uniting various factions in the Coaches’ Association and also organise a credible election to pick those who will administer the Coaches’ body.
The Committee has three months to complete its task, but its tenure could be extended.
While inaugurating the Normalisation Committee, Oba Odeniran charged the Committee Chairman and his members to carry out the assignment given to them diligently without fear or favour for any of the involved parties.
