Several people were burnt alive on Thursday afternoon at the Onipepeye, Iwo Road, Ibadan end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after a fuel tanker exploded.
PMParrot can authoritatively report here that the tragedy was triggered off after the fuel tanker tumbled in the middle of the Expressway at the mentioned location.
Our eye witness source submitted: “after the tanker tumbled and poured its content, it flowed down the overhead bridge at Onipepeye, Old Ife Road Saw Mill side. Trust Nigerians, they started scooping the fuel into funny funny containers.
“And when they were doing this, they were not orderly. So, something sparked and fire broke out and you know, petrol is deadly. It spread to the source on the Expressway and the tanker exploded.”
PMParrot was informed that fire fighters and other good-spirited Nigerians attempted to curb the spread but several vehicles were burnt including many of those scooping the fuel and others who were trapped.
So far, the number of those burnt could not be confirmed by the time of uploading of this account.
