It was a moment of joy and celebration at Ayegun Baptist Church, Sanctuary of Joy, Ogbomoso, Oyo State when family members friends, pastor and the entire congregation of the church gathered to celebrate one of them and the former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olagunju Ojo.
The Thanksgiving service was held on Sunday, June 9th, 2019, the exact date the tenure of the present eighth Assembly in the state came to an end.
Hon. Olagunju Ojo in his testimony and thanksgiving gave thanks to God for a successful tenure that is worthy of celebration. He thanked the pastor and the entire congregation of Ayegun Baptist Church for their prayers and support throughout the journey.
The Ogbomoso born politician maintained that the eighth Assembly has performed excellently well by debating about 87 bills, out of which 70 of them have been passed into law.
Hon. Olagunju also said that about 145 resolutions have been passed by the House in the last four years.
The former Speaker, in his advice to the incoming lawmakers, charged them to put in their best to surpass the achievement recorded by the eighth Assembly.
While delivering his sermon, the pastor in charge of Ayegun Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Rev (Dr.) Paul Olaleye advised Hon. Olagunju to keep trusting God and not to be discouraged if people he had shown love to while in office should disappoint him.
Reverend Olaleye later prayed for the future success of Hon. Olagunju Ojo and his family.
Hon. Olagunju Ojo later hosted family, friends, well wishers and constituents at a civic reception organized in his home town, Ogbomoso in Oriire Local Government.
