2019 Africa Cup of Nations: Ndidi Named Man Of The Match In Win Over Burundi

Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has been named man of the match in the 1-0 win against Burundi in their AFCON 2019 Group B clash at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday night.

Ndidi was picked ahead of the trio of Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Ola Aina who were also impressive in the game.

The Leicester City star lined up in midfield alongside the duo of Oghenekaro Etebo and captain John Mikel Obi in the game

He played the entire 90 minutes of the entertaining encounter.

“After his stellar performance, @Ndidi25 has been selected as the Total Man of the Match. Congrats!,” reads a Tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Substitute Odion Ighalo scored the winning goal for the Super Eagles 13 minutes from time.

Nigeria’s next game is against the Syli Nationale of Guinea next Wednesday also at the Alexandria Stadium.
