Engr. Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State has pledged that his administration will be fair, just and equal to all religious Institutions in the State.
The Governor who made the pledge while speaking at the Thanksgiving service held at the Victory International Church Rehoboth Cathedral church, Oluyole Estate Ibadan, said that all the religious institutions in the state will be treated equally as the appointment made so far was based on religious balance as Chief of Staff is a Muslim while the Secretary to the State Government is Christian.
“In my administration, whatever is due for either Muslims,Christians and Traditional worshipers will be given to them equally without any bias or favour.”
Governor Makinde assured the people of the state that he would serve them with the fear of God adding that, “I have made a promise to serve the good people of Oyo State with the fear of God and not to rule them autocratically.”
The Governor also promised to run a gender balance administration in which 30% representation will be given to women in his administration.
Makinde stressed further that his administration will be focused on infrastructural projects that will be targeted to add to the economic value of the State.
He, therefore, appealed to religious leaders in the State to continue to pray for the success of his administration.
Speaking earlier, the presiding Bishop Victory International Church, Rehoboth Cathedral Oluyole Estate, Pastor Taiwo Adelakun admonished the Governor to seek wise counsel in his administration and not allow sycophants to derail him in his government.
He urged the Governor to take the security of lives and properties of the people in the State as priority in his administration as insecurity in the southwest states begs for urgent attention.
He, therefore, enjoined all the political office holders that will be working with the Governor to sincerely advise him always.
