Insecurity: GOC 2 Div Visits Oyetola, Promises To Help Osun Government Flush Out Bandits

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division Nigeria Army, Major General Okwudili Fidelis Azinta on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, at the Governor’s Office, Osogbo, Osun State.

This was made known in a statement issued and signed by the Deputy Director, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Col. Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed in Ibadan.

The GOC while explaining the purpose of his visit stated that 2 Division Nigeria Army is ready to partner with the State and other security agencies to tackle the security challenges facing the state.

He also stressed that the Division will assist in flushing out illegal miners and also put an end to all other security challenges including kidnapping and banditry.

He opined that conducive structure, platforms, command and control must be put in place to achieve effective operational dividends, adding that strong regulations of all existing legal mining industries within the State must be regulated by law.

Major General Azinta also used the occasion to congratulate His Excellency on his victory at the Supreme Court as governor elect of Osun State.

The Governor in his response urged the GOC to put all apparatus in place to ensure the smooth participation of the Division in the security network of the State.

He assured the GOC that the State government will provide structure and platforms to combat the present security challenges of the State.

Gov. Oyetola, however, thanked the GOC and his entourage for finding time to visit the state and also holding the security of the State in high esteem.
