All is set for the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration in Ekiti State to establish the first mechanical village especially for the use of the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) and others.
This was disclosed by the state’s Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industries, Chief David Olusoga in his office recently while hosting the leadership of the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) that the first Mechanical Village in the state.
Olusoga told the association’s executive committee members, led by its chairman, Mr. Olusoji Olusegun and the South West Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Olasehinde Olubodun who were on an official visit that the village would be established soon.
The Commissioner, who reminded NATA leaders that the idea of a Mechanical Village in the state evolved during the first term of Governor Kayode Fayemi, assured that the project would be executed in the shortest possible time.
He promised to visit the proposed site before the end of the week to acquaint himself with the situation on ground as well as ascertaining the level of encroachment on the land for necessary action.
Chief Olusoga said further that government would put in place facilities that would make the village conducive for all the users, calling on automobile technicians in the state to support the Governor Fayemi-led government in order to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
He urged the artisans to form cooperative societies so as to benefit from the government loan facility that would be rolled out soon, which would be given out through organized channels for ease of recovery.
Briefing the visitors, the Director of Investment in the ministry, Mr. Ayodele Adeyanju, who was represented by the officer in charge of the village, Mr. Busuyi Adesanya said that part of the land has been encroached while another vast area of land was allocated along
Ikere-Ekiti to accommodate Automobile Market, Mechanical Village and Auto Spare Parts Shops by the immediate past government with an approval of ₦100 million earth work which was never released.
In their remarks, the State Chairman of NATA, Mr. Olusoji Olusegun and its South West PRO, Mr. Olasehinde Olubodun appealed to the government to make the place useable and facilitate the immediate movement of their members to the site, adding that this would be of tremendous advantage to its members, the government and the people of the state.
While congratulating Governor Fayemi on his emergence as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, NATA leadership promised its continued support for the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi to deliver more dividend of democracy to Ekiti people.
