The Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed  Abiodun Fadeyi has identified lack of respect for the rule of law and disobedience to court order as factors responsible to continuous fracas between the members of the Islamic sect, Shi’ite Movement and security agents in the country.

Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi, while condoling with the families of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, corps member and others who lost their lives during the clash, condemned the incident, described it as another security challenge which the country could not afford at this point in time.

The Deputy Speaker, in his reaction on the recent development in Abuja, stated that it is now time for the federal government do the needful to nip the issue in the bud.

Hon. Fadeyi charged President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to adopt a diplomatic measure to settle the issue instead of using force which brings no result, rather escalating it to the level of crisis.

“We cannot afford another security challenge at this point in time, it is condemn-able, it is sad and it is not augur well for this country.”

On the issue of the sect leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky being a threat to the security of the country, the Deputy Speaker hinted that Sheik El-Zakzaky does not in any way portend a security threat to the country, saying that both President Muhammad Buhari and the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai could not claim not to know him (El-Zakzaky) as the leader of the sect for all the years he has been in the state.

Hon. Fadeyi maintained that the failure of the federal government to allow the judiciary to do its work led to the incident of disorderliness the country is witnessing. He noted that rule of law must always be allowed.
