The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigeria Army, Major General Anthony Bamidele Omozoje recently paid a courtesy visit on the Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, at the Government House, Osogbo, Osun State.
The GOC while explaining the purpose of his visit stated that 2 Division Nigeria Army is ready to partner with the State and other security agencies to tackle the security challenges in the state.
He also stressed that the Division will assist in flushing out illegal miners and also put an end to all other security challenges including kidnapping and banditry.
Major General Omozoje opined that “Conducive structure, platforms, command and control must be put in place to achieve effective operational dividends.
He said strong regulations of all existing legal mining industries within the State must be regulated by law stressing that the visit was also to see Formations and Units under 2 Division in the State of Osun.
Major General Omozoje congratulated His Excellency on his victory as Governor Elect of the State of Osun.
In his response, Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola congratulated the GOC on his new appointment as General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army.
He urged the GOC to put all apparatus in place to ensure the smooth participation of the Division in the security network of the State.
Alhaji Oyetola promised that the State government will provide structures and platforms to combat the present security challenges of the State.
He thanked the GOC and the Nigerian Army at large for positively impacting in the lives of the people of the State of Osun.
His Excellency also thanked the GOC and members of his entourage for finding time to pay courtesy visit on His Excellency and also for holding the security of the State in high esteem. The GOC on his departure from the Government House also visited the Nigerian Machine Tools, Oshogbo.
