Community Policing: NSDC, PCRC Lauded By Ogun Assembly

The Speaker, Rt. Hon Olakunle Oluomo has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps  (NSCDC) and the Police Community Relations Committee  (PCRC) members in the State for their selfless service to the society, especially in the area of the protection critical infrastructure as well as community policing to secure lives and property of the people in the State.

The Speaker gave the commendation while receiving separately the Management of NSCDC State Command, led by its Commandant, Hamid Abodunrin and the State Chairman of PCRC, Pastor Adebayo Lawson on courtesy calls on the Assembly.

He noted that by their activities, the NSDC and PCRC had contributed to the peace and progress of the State, acknowledging the role of the State in the establishment of the NSDC.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Commandant of NSDC, Mr. Abodunrin acknowledged the various people oriented legislations passed by the Assembly towards ensuring effective security network and the overall development of the  State, saying the NSDC remained committed to providing humanitarian services to the people.

On his part, the Chairman, State PCRC, Pastor  Lawson said the Committee had over two hundred thousands membership spread across the State, saying that  the association had been rendering selfless service to the State in the area of community policing in collaboration with security agencies.

He thanked the Assembly for the passage of the ‘So Safe Corps’ bill which had led to the absorption of the members of Vigilante Service in to the ‘So Safe Corps’ organisation for effective community policing across the State.
