The Wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on Monday kick started a seven-day tours of all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state to empower women for the purpose of helping them to sustain themselves economically.
The tour according to the governor’s wife will also afford her the opportunity to educate and enlighten Ekiti Women to ensure they enroll their children in school and discourage them from sending their kids on errands when they should be in school.
According to the statement issued from Media Department in her office, Erelu Fayemi’s schedule of movement indicated that the tour will see her on the road till Tuesday, September 17th.
Some of the items already earmarked to be distributed by Erelu Fayemi during the tour include sewing machines, hair driers, bags containing foodstuffs for old people (Ounje Arugbo), food warmers, gas cookers and grinding machines among other articles.
While announcing the tour in an online video, Erelu Fayemi said “I will use the opportunity of the visits to personally interact with the Women in Ekiti State to know what they actually need and other things they want the State Government to do for them”, she concluded.
