A tour broker and stakeholder in the tourism industry has urged the new Minister of Youths and Sport Development, Sunday Dare to ensure a good synergy between the Nigerian tourism and the sports industry for the country to benefit many derivableS associated with the two.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the popular touring firm, UfitFly, Evang. Ajibola Ogunkeyede made this call while speaking with newsmen at the departure lunge of the Muritala Mohammed International Airport while seeing-off the Jerusalem bound crew on Tuesday.
Ogunkeyede who congratulated the Ogbomoso born Minister said his advice for him is to fashion out a good collaboration between his portfolio and that of culture and tourism so that the country can tap into many benefits embedded in the synergy.
“We have done a lot under the CSR (corporate social responsibility) policy of our firm to support sports, especially the game of golf, and as a stakeholder and tourism practitioner, I can confidently recommend the two as good sources of revenue generation if properly synergized.
“I believe Mr. Sunday Dare with his pedigree and background will get it right and reposition this most important ministry, as our government seems not to understand the significance of Youths and Sports Ministry to the entire economic growth of the nation”, UfitFly boss noted.
He added that if the youths of the nation are properly managed through active engagement in sports and a good collaboration is fashioned out between sports and tourism, the country will maximally generate great revenue that will surpass what derivable from oil.
