
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has embarked on a tour of all the wards in his constituency.
The tour was part of his sincere and avowed resolve to stay connected with the people of Ibarapa East state constituency and also appreciate them for trusting him with their mandate.
The three day visit, which took Hon. Ogundoyin to villages, communities and areas in Ibarapa East state constituency, afforded him the opportunity of interacting with the people on what they desire and expect from him as their representative and above all as the Speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly.
The Speaker who was accompanied on the tour by leaders and prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the constituency said he owed his political attainment so far and his emergence as the Speaker to God and the people for the confidence reposed in him.
He applauded them for their prayers, support and demonstration of love at all times.
Ogundoyin’s words, “We decided to come and say thank you for your relentless support during and after the elections and our coming is also to enable you have a say on how you want us to represent you so that our programmes and policies can be tailored along and according to your needs and aspirations.
“It was also in fulfillment of our electoral promise of ensuring quality representation and also promoting all inclusive and participatory democracy in a bid to advancing the course of our people and ultimately contribute to good governance in our state.”
The Speaker assured that any promise made during the electioneering campaign especially in empowering the youth, women and other categories of the constituents will be fulfilled.
Ogundoyin, while promising not to let the people of his constituency down, solicited the continual support of Governor Seyi Makinde government in his quest to transform the state socially, educationally and economically
In their separate reactions, the representatives of various communities commended the Speaker for the good step he has taken, noting that once politicians get to power they often neglect and forget people who gave them the mandate.
They used the opportunity of the visit to seek the intervention of the state government on the provision of basic amenities in their communities as well as provision of adequate security for residents and their properties.
Some of the communities and places visited in Ibarapa East state constituency by Hon Ogundoyin and his team included Eruwa, Lanlate, Abule ijesha, Lagaye, Temidire, Igbo-Dudu Alapa, Okolo, Ilado, Maya, Amko and Aborerin among others.
