Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has racked up the most tackles in the English Premier League since making his debut in the division against Chelsea on January 14, 2017.
According to football statistics website Whoscored.com, the Leicester City midfielder has made 394 tackles to place first ahead of former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye (302) and Chelsea’s World Cup winner N’Golo Kante (263).
Ndidi recorded 68 tackles during the 2016-2017 season, 138 in his first full season, 143 in the 2018-2019 season and has won 45 tackles in nine appearances for Leicester City so far this season.
The Leicester City number 25 was the top tackling player in the Premier League for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons and only teammate Ricardo Pereira (47) has won more tackles than the Nigerian this season.
Despite his combative style in midfield, the Super Eagles star has never been suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
Ndidi, who is the Premier League’s best ball winner, ranks first in England’s top-flight for interceptions this season (32).
