Ekiti Government Says EKIFEST 2019’ll Hold In December

All is now set for the Ekiti State Flagship Festival tagged “Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture “EKIFEST” to hold from Thursday, 10th December through Friday, 13th December, 2019.

The Director General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre, disclosed this at a Forum in Ado-Ekiti, where he highlighted the features of the Festival to include carnival parade, traditional games/sports, colloquium, performing arts competition for Local Governments Areas and command performance, Ekiti Fashion Show and Fiesta among others.

Ojo Lanre, who described the event as a veritable avenue to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ekiti people in art works, crafts, traditional dresses among others, affirmed that it would give room for talent hunt and development of such to stardom as the present administration was favourably disposed to cultural rejuvenation and promotion in conformity with acceptable global standard.

In a dialogue with the Festival Consultant of EKIFEST 2019, Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, it was revealed that the inaugural meeting of members of the various sub-committees for the planning and execution of the Festival has been slated for 10:00 am on Friday, 15th November 2019, at Adetiloye Hall, Fountain Hotel Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti.

According to the Festival Consultant, the meeting will have in attendance over 200 members of the different sub-committees drawn from both the private and public sector of the state and would be presided over by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, the Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi.
