Journalists Charged To Always Work Smart

The Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Values Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua has charged Information Officers in the Ministry of Information and Values Orientation to work smart by applying technology in discharging their duties and move with the modern trend of development.

Aare Olumilua gave the charge at the end of the year get-together Ceremony organized by the Information Chapel of the Ministry for Information Officers and retired Civil Servants of the Ministry held at SUBEB Hall in Ado Ekiti.

The Commissioner who expressed happiness that the Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi had given approval for Information Officers to proceed on further studies, said the State Government was also prepared to sponsor them if their pursuits are in line with what they do as Information Officers.

He added that Government would continue to train and retrain Information Officers, urging Information Officers to go Twitter with a view to attracting more audience on the internet.

Aare Olumilua pleaded that the leadership of Information Officers in the State and that of the NUJ should sheath their swords and come together to chat a new course to move forward, noting that after darkness comes a glorious dawn.

The Commissioner assured the Information Officers of better days in year 2020 stressing that, the 2020 end of the year party would be celebrated under a better and more conducive atmosphere with cash gifts to best workers.

The Director, Information Services, Mr. Adeola Babalola who appreciated the State Government for the gesture, thanked the Commissioner and the Information Officers for their support, promising that the Information Officers would tighten their belts to achieve their best in the coming year.

Officers recognised to have performed outstandingly in the various units of the Information Services Department were presented with gifts and certificates. The officers are Abiodun Olofe of the Information

Services Department, Michael Awoyunmo of the Cinematography Section, Ayo from the Graphics Section, Rawa Olabode of the Film Section and Micheal Awoyunmo from the Film Section.
