In recognition of his contribution to the people and the society in general, the Radio, Television, Theatre Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) chapter has bestowed Media Award of Excellence on Architect Hassan Olawale Giwa.
The recognition award according to the organizers, is to acknowledge and appreciate the kind gesture of people who have been giving back to the society from their resources.
Mr. Kayode Olagunju, who is the Chairman of the union, disclosed that the union had at a particular time honoured people like the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, King of Juju Music, Sunday Adegeye (King Sunny Ade) and Dr. Abib Olamitoye with same award for their immense contributions to the society.
He mentioned that Arc. Hassan Giwa has also contributed to the development of the society through his foundation.
In his appreciation address to the executive and members of the union, Arc. Giwa commended them for deeming it fit to recognize him with the award.
He said that it is the responsibility of all well to do people in the society to give back to the people no matter how small from the resources God has given to them.
While dedicating the award to all the people rendering humanitarian services in the society, he acknowledged that the award is a challenge to do more for the people.
The Founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa Foundation, said that the idea of his foundation is to contribute his quota to the development of mankind and the society.
He expressed that his passion for assistance prompted him to establish the foundation, where he will be able to touch many lives in his little capacity.
He reiterated his commitment to give necessary support to the union.
Arc. enjoined every well-meaning individual in the society to inculcate the habit of helping the less privileged in order to ensure better society.
