Fayemi Commended For Approving New Recruitment, Promotions At TESCOM

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has been commended for his support in all ramifications towards the progress of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

Chairman, Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission, Hon. Babatunde Abegunde gave the commendation in his address, during the maiden plenary meeting of the Commission in his office in Ado-Ekiti.

The Chairman described TESCOM as a reservoir of knowledge where people come up with ideas on how to improve Educational System in the state.

He highlighted some of his achievements recorded since his nine months of assumption into office at the Commission to include; successful verification exercise for teaching and non-teaching staff of all schools in Ekiti to ascertain staff payroll, headcount, staff strength and infrastructures.

Also, the Governor approved the recruitment of 705 teaching and 152 Non-teaching staff, the approval of the promotion of 5,472 eligible staff for 2018 and 2019, where the letters would be issued soon since promotion exams and interview had been conducted amongst others.

Quoting the words of the hardworking Governor Fayemi, the Chairman said, “the journey to restore our values, dignity and honour as a people continues and we are on this mission together”.

The TESCOM Boss enjoined all to join hands with the Governor to move Ekiti forward, emphasizing that Education is a key sector of the five pillars of the present administration which is about the future, adding that handlers of the future must be mindful of their actions as they would shape the future of the state.

He therefore enjoined all, especially the staff on the field to show more commitment and dedication to duty in order to deliver the Governor’s vision of sound and quality education to Ekiti people.

He challenged that the task of restoring the glory of Ekiti education is a task that must be done.

Abegunde lauded the unflinching support, cooperation and loyalty of the Management and members of staff of the Commission, referring to the Permanent Secretary as a catalyst in the realization of TESCOM dreams.

In attendance at the plenary meeting were the three Tutor Generals in Ekiti, a Representative each from Establishments, Ministry of Education as well as a Lawyer from Ministry of Justice among other officers.
